HISTORICAL AND REVISION NOTES
Part E establishes the authority for the Coast Guard to issue,
suspend, and revoke licenses, certificates of registry, and
merchant mariner's documents for individuals who are to be engaged
on vessels of the United States.

AMENDMENTS
1985 - Pub. L. 99-36, Sec. 1(a)(9)(B), May 15, 1985, 99 Stat. 67,
substituted "Merchant Seamen Licenses, Certificates, and" for
"Licenses, Certificates, and Merchant Mariners' " in part E
heading.
